IR's music in Mugham

Hi,
Happened to watch the tamil movie 'Mugham' on KTV yesterday. Man! what a refreshing movie. In these days when you can't watch a movie with your family, I can say that I watched it with my parents without feeling embarrased. Two outstanding aspects of the movie - great BGM by IR and a very good acting by Nasser. The BGM was haunting, to say the least. The score reiterates that fact that IR is the one and only MD who knows the importance of BGM in an Indian movie. If at all any Indian can make his/her mark felt in the western music world, it's IR. Any doubt, watch this movie. I would like knowledgeable people to discuss his score in this movie. Thanks!

  Music made this movie to be remembered. only very few "only bgm" movies in tf. Veedu,houseful, mugam, kuruthipunal, (pesum padam - even pechu not there),kkk, except KP, all with IR. IR-BGM, others-B(oo)GM.

  Just a clarification of the term 'knowledgeable people'. I don't know the ABCD of Wetern Classical music. I think IR has used WC heavily in this movie. Eventhough I started this thread, I won't be able to contribute much because of my lack of WC knowledge. so, I have made an appeal to anyone who can make a meaningful contribution.

  Just a calrification of the term 'Knowledgeable people'. Anyone who can make a meaningful contribution is knowledgeable, in my opinion. Though I have started this thread, my contribution will be almost nil because of my lack of knowledge in Western Classical music.

  saw "kanni raasi" in KTV yesterday..the BGM pieces during the romantic scenes between Prabhu and Revathi were similar to the BGM pieces in Salangai Oli romantic scenes between Kamal and Jayapradha..anyone felt the same?
