"Ilayanila Pozhigiradhu" to "Neelae ambar par"
hello Sir Ilayaraja lovers,
I think most of you here are MTV and channel [V] freaks, the other day I was watching MTV or Channel [V] (don't remember really), there is a new song from some singer called NITIN BAALI, whose album "Neelae Neelae Anbhar par" , which seems to be a straight lift from Maestro Ilayaraja's song of the 80's "Ilayanila pozhigiradhu".
Recently, Hindi music director of yesteryears, Bappi Lahiri, had sued Universal, because his HIT song of the 1970's has become the HOT song of 2002, after lifting and picturising it in a new way. The song was a straight lift. (The song was "Kaliyon ka chamman").
Are people allowed to life songs like this. Please correct me, if I am wrong and have healthy comments please.

It is a LIFT ,with permision from the maestrio in rturn of a LIFT by Maestro from RD

it wasnt RD, it was Kalyanji Anandji

It is true that KA lifted the tune from IR, and even made a hash of the song. However IR also lifted "kasme vaade pyaar vafaa", a KA song. The only difference is that IR did not make a hash of the original song.

"Neele neele ambar par"
A 1982 song. Sung by Kishor Kumaar. Is this the song that is being discussed?
If it be so, how come that Kalyaanji-Aanadji made a hash of it?? It is one of the quality songs rendered by Kishor.

Please don't conclude in this way ..It is different to be a FAn and to be a person like this ..Persons who are Fans of AR or IR will be fans of their MUSIC and not bashers
