(last) IR movie with *all* songs hit

Which is the last movie by IR with all songs
that can be classified as super-hit (by IR standards)
(not all songs are hit in Kaadalukku mariyaadai)

What other movies(MD:IR) had all songs hit in recent times..
Singaaraavelan..?
EEramaana rojavE..?

Why is it that the lyrics in these songs are more
memorable (hummable) (not for lyrics but for tunes)..?

TFM fans' views please..

  Srikant and Kaushik are dead right about IR's telugu music. As expressed earlier, it would do a lot of good to Telugu industry and a privileage to 'us' listeners if IR starts renewing works with Telugu directors.
  
  For instance, K. Vishwanath had only 3 movies (musical masterpeices) with IR but preferred to stick with KV Mahadevan instead. Similarly, Vamsi had him for all his movies and eventually when a blanket ban on IR was issued in Telugu in 1993 Vamsi gave music himself to his movies. Except for stray movies, IR never worked with Telugu directors to this day since 1993. Hope things will work in audience favor from now on with IR re-establishing his superiority in Tamil cinema. IR's musical ensemble from classical (Swarnakamalam) to tatikallu [dance songs](Bobilli raja) is simply beyond compare.

  I agree that Vamsy picturised his songs well notably "Keeravani" from Anveshana, but his movies leave a lot to be desired. He yakes up new and different plots for his movies, but spoils them half way through. He leave a lot of loose ends e.g. Anveshana and Detective Narada.
  BTW, IR's work for RGV for Siva was one of the best. The BGM was excellent. It is a shame that he is not working with IR anymore. However, RGV has found an effective substitute for IR's BGM by using S.Chowta in Satya. Boy! This guy surely knows his stuff.

  There was some sort of boycott call given by producers in telugu film industry (not in the news though) that IR is charging 'too much' and that 'he needs to be kept in his place'. Since the word was passed around by the big wigs many did not work with IR. He came out with just a couple of movies during that time. However, public impression was that ARR and others threw IR out of the top spot. But that wasn't what happened. Anyway, lot happened since then and now IR is back in the reckoning.

  Thanks for this piece of info. So, that is the real reason why number of IR's movies in Telugu started declining, even though almost every audio release of his was Hit. The directors should have known better than to listen to this "boycott call". Anyway, they are paying the price now with choicest music by Dabba MDs like Koti and also some imported Mediocrity from Deva , Sirpi .. etc.

  Why? All the songs in Bharathi are not hit? Why this howl and cry over mayil pola ponnu??? Nice song it is!! Even it won the national award, u know?? Bharathi is the ever green hit for IR and his MUSIC. See, for these kind of true life time stories, u should watch the movie. Then probably u come to know about the songs and the way it's been made.   There's something called melody/tune for a song which should be new and fresh for each and every song. mayil pOla falls into this category. It probably does not have a drum machine or electronically processed sound. But it has a soul !!

  Different people find soul in different places.So soul is a relative term.It's good to know that Mayil pola is one of your soul-stirring songs.

  IR gives immense variety that caters to the taste of different people that Sometimes there will be disagreement even in a super hit film if all songs are hit. He does not always use a few set formulae for songs
  
  Even in all songs hit movie like "payanangal mudivadillai" - some people love "Aatha Aathorama" and some didn't. Some liked Ilaya Nila to be the best and some "Thogai Ilamayil"

  I am not sure how many people know about this movie called 'Kadhal Rojave'. All the songs were big hits. The movie was a big flop though. Incidentally the movie was released about 2 years later than the cassette release. Some great melodies tuned by IR and sung by SPB

  IMO, IR did not produce greater hits than "Thalapathi" or "Chinna Thambi" since then...and in the recent years "Kaadhalukku Mariyaadhai" and "Bharathi"?

  Is chembaruthi considered a hit ? Except for one song 'chembaruthi poovu' I liked all other songs. This song was left out in the compilation my brother made for me, during the mid 90s. I also have an excellent KJY CD with songs from mounam sammadham, kEladi kanmani, dharmadurai, siraiyil pooththa sila rAgangaL, arangkERRa vELai, siraiyil pooththa chinna malar, unnaich cholli kuRRamillai, rAjA kaiya vechchA, kaRpoora mullai, poonthotta kAvalkAran, pAsap paravaigaL, en bommukkutti ammavukku etc.
  Surely, IR was not idle in the 90s :)
