Singers as Actors-What do TFM lovers have to say:

TFM lovers, or for that matter, Music lovers, in the Indian scenario, what do you all have to say about wonderful singers turning actors. In my opinion, ther is nothing wrong, as far as it does not affect their singing career. Even great legends such the great, Mr.Malaysia Vasudevan, Mr.S P Balasubramaniam, have acted in a number of films, and their singing never went down. And they continue to act.

They have an oppurtunity to showcase their multi talents. Some of the latest singers turned actors are:

Harish Raghavendra - Vikatan (upcoming; dir: Ahathian)

Yugendran - Poovellam un Vaasam, Youth, Bhagavathy and anothet films, Kaadhal Saamrajiyam (dir: Ahathian).

SPB Charan - Kaadhal Saamrajiyam (dir: Ahathian)

Venkat Prabhu (Son of Gangai Amaran) - Kaadhal Saamrajiyam (dir: Ahathian)

Vasundara Das - Monsoon Wedding, Citizen and few other Malayalam films and music videos.

Sonu Nigam - Nepal, Jaani Dushman, and Kaash Aap Hamaare Hoate for Raj Babbar.

A site has this news that, the great singer, Hariharan is also making his debut into acting after a few music videos. The film is called, Power of Woman, with Kushboo and the music is by Vidhyasagar.

We as audience, should definetely encourage this. Talents have to be brought out.

Will other singers like, T K Karthik, Thippu, Chinmayee, will also join them ??, what do you guys have to tell:

  When "only" good looking males/females become heros and heroines why can't good looking PLUS talented(in singing, one form of cinema's need) males/females, act? They are most welcome. All they need is they shouldn't blink as more dumbo than the existing clad, thats it.

  Vasundara Das was introduced in Heyram by KamalHasan in Tamil.
  Mano- I think came in to TF as actor.Singaravelan which I can remember on of his movies.

  IMHO, the first and foremost among the music field personnel to act in film is Paapanaasam sivan. He has acted in many small roles, being a MD.
  
  Also, if my memory is not wrong, the next is TMS, a playback singer acting in main role (as hero) in a couple of movies (thiruneelakandar(?), arunagirinaadhar).
  
  Then Malyasia & SPB, many movies.
  
  In addition to that KaNNadhaasan, TMS+MSV+TKR(?)+LRE, IR, (shankar) ganesh, gangai amaran appeared in a scene.
  
  Kannadhaasan -> in song; paramasivan kazhuththilirundhu
  
  TMS+MSV+TKR(?)+LRE -> in start of song; avaLukkaen azhagiya mugam
  
  IR -> in start of song; naan thaedum sevvandhi poovidhu
  
  (shankar) ganesh -> one sathyaraj+banupriya movie.

  I dont think TKR ever appeared.It was only MSV in "Avalukenna Azagiya mugam"
  
  Seergazhi in a lot of movies like Agathiyar,Kandhan Karunai etc..( with due respects to that simple man ..His voice did not suit him too!)
  
  Valee did Poikaal kudhirai and Parhthale Paravasam and Hey Ram.
