Prema Paasam (1985)

Guys,
I have one song on CD from the 1985 Sivakumar-Revathy flick 'Prema Paasam'. Gangai Amaran scored the music. I haven't touched the song until recently. The song is 'Paasam... Prema Paasam...' sung by SPB, who, during the pallavi and the end of the interludes, goes into coughing fits. Now, what I would like to know is where in the film does the song fit in?
