usage of anupallavi in IR''ssongs and AR's songs

guys
i notice the other day that in raja's(ilayaraja)time there were songs in which the pallavi and anupallavi were sung after the first charanam(sundari neeyum sundaran naanum from the movie michael,madana,kama rajan), in this song the anupallavi will be sung whenever the pallavi is sung, but in ARR's songs the anupallavi is sung only once throughout the whole song, it will be sung in the beginning and will not get repeated again.What you think about this kind of trend, plese give me details of same songs like this.
