Srinivas, Shankar Mahadevan and Unni Krishnan: Who's the best?

        Well, there can be no doubt about the fact that these three are the best singers in TFM at the moment. But of the three, who's the best? It seems to me that the vast majority of TFM fans feel that it is Unni Krishnan, but I feel that Srinivas is a more versatile singer. Of course, technically he is not as perfect; at very high pitches his voice does sound funny, but I feel that he is more versatile, i.e. capable of singing all styles of music, while Unni Krishnan is better at Carnatic and Indian light music. I feel that Shankar Mahadevan is also similarly talented, i.e. has a voice that suits both Indian Classical and Western-style pop music, but his voice lacks the "lightness" that characterizes Srinivas.

        In summing up, I would like to say that in my opinion, Srinivas is a vastly-underrated singer.

        What are your comments? It would be really nice to have the experts's comments here, i.e. J Srikkanth, Naveen Jebaraj, Aditya, etc., etc.

  I think UNNI MENON is one of the best singers around. He has sung some beautiful songs.. and his voice has such a romantic tone to it. He deserves more attention in TFM.

  Just wondering, why are you all praising those malayalees in tfm? what about the tamizh singers?

  Mr. UnniKrishnan has the most beautiful voice i've ever heard...let it be classical, devotional, romance, pop, he sings it superbly...he is versatile and there is simply a magic in his voice that glows....Best wishes to him..

  Hi, Guys & girls ! I think the credit goes to Unnikrishnan. I have been to his recording in India !! He is realy superb !! It can be clasical/pop/semi/& etc he realy can control his voise & change his voice according to the situation. SPB will only take 10 minutes read the lyrics 10 min to listen to mette & 10 for take !!Wow he is great !! Believe me I have been to Unni's life clasical life concert & never miss his show in my country !! . I know him personally & he mention to me that KJY his his maanusia Guru !! In his car he only has KJY & Hariharan collections !! I am telling this not because he is my friend but the fact !! Anyway this is my opinion !! Sorry if it is not the same par with u guys !!

  Srinivas call pull of a Hariharan and a unikrishnan and a shanker mahadevan, his versatlity is very strong, he needs more songs. But imo uniikrishnan is a more beautiful singer, wonderful person also.

  comparing these three singers are like comparing your various parts in your body to see which one is more important or the best.unni is extremely good r&b songs,in carnatic based songs though he mumbles at times in katcheri he is often critisized by carnatic experts saying he dont have the depth in his voice,but out in rap or fast beats or folk songs because he cant sing with western touch, sreenivas is superb when comes to r&b songs,he knows carnatic also though not like unni,sreeni was never given a chance too sing carnatic so cant judge, he can do well in folk but poo rin western type songs also when comes to very high pitch songs.......BUT our shangkar is EXTREMELY good in carnatic and ghazal,folk,r&b with extremely powerful voice who can touch a wide rance of keys low or high just name it .he can perform without much struggle.SO GUYS PLEASE DONT COMPARE THEM BECAUSE EACH HAS THEIR OWN BHAAVAM AND THEY CAN ONLY TAKE SONGS WHICH SUITS THEIR PITCH.PLEASE INCLUDE HARIHARAN ALSO...SOMETIMES NOBODY CAN MATCH HIM IN CERTAIN SONGS LIKE....kalaimaanae un thalai kothevaa in thalam....uyirae uyirae vanthu yennodu kalanthuvidu...there are some bhaavams which i think only hari can express well....
