While A R Rahman seems to be experimenting with different kind of music, Harris seems to be experimenting with different voices right from Minnale.
In Minnale he re-discovered; Bombay Jayasri, Timmy, Harish Raghavendra, Devan, Thippu, Mahalakshmi, Roop Kumar Rathod, and female lyricist Thamarai.
In 12B; he re-discovered; KK, introduced Prashanthi, Febi, Samantha Edward, Premji and Sunitha Rao.
In Majnu, Roop Kumar Rathod (Hindi Ghazal Singer).
In, Samurai; Nithyasree attemped a different kind of song she usually doesn't sing (Oru Nadhi..) and Thushara, Shwetha Shetty (Hindi Pop Singer).
In Laysa Laysa; he gave a beautiful song to Anuradha Sriram, who was stuck up with the O Podu!. Also introduced singers; Suchitra, Ramadurai, Madhumitha, Srilekha Parthasarathy and Franko.
In Saami; a new singer called, Mahati, who sang Pudhichirukku..
In Kaaka Kaaka; he again brough in KK, who was missing after singing for Ajith's Red. KK is quite successful in Bollywood, and has also sung two songs for Saathiya (Hindi Alaipayuthey) and also Harris introduced new singers, Suchitra, Sunitha Sarathy, Febimani.
Harris has to be appreciated for this experimentation. But, I think these voices don't really appeal for a Tamil Song. Their voices appear to be more westernised and I feel the Tamil audience cannot remember their names and songs that long and digest them and the song life seems to be less. Well, time will answer that question. What has TFM Forum has to say about these one film wonder singers introduced by Harris Jayaraj now-a-days?
No comparision between ARR and HR music here please, lots of threads are opened by Dinesh for that purpose.

harris must use chitra,sujatha,harini as well as SPB 4 he hasnt tried anything withhim. unnimenon,unni krishnan,srinivas can also be given a chance by HJ.
mahati,madhumita voice are suited 4 youth and so that can be justified

I think it is not the voice but the music which is doing the thing ...Even in Kaka Kaka his style of composing and the use of instruments is not that different ...
If one had to maintain the same style and still give hits u have to be a composer of Illyaraaja's calibre ...
for that matter even Yuvan Shankar Raaja has introduced many singers ...

HJ has used chitra in Laysa Laysa and Saami ...
He prefers Harria Raghavendra over Unni like ARR prefers Unni over Harris ..
I think HJ's best song ,which is very very different will be Mongil Katugalae from Samurai ..iwonder why Harris is not giving songs of that type ...

Bombay Jayasri: "narumugaiye" in Iruvar, "ninnai charan" in Bharathi
Devan: " smile" in KKKK
Mahalakshmi: already used extensively before minnale
Shwetha Shetty : already used in rangeela in "aiyaiyoo"
introducing new singers is also not a big thing MSV, IR, ARR all have done that.. HJ's singer are just one instance of that old formulae..
the only new thing he has done is replaced any semblance of lyrics with " oh! mama mama "... and "ususse ususse"
result: he has done nothing new which we have not seen before. even his hairstyle..

Mumbai Ramki... "Aathi adi aathi" from NINI, i guess, is by Pop Shalini. Good rhythm beat and wonderful high pitch singing.

Srilekha parthasarathy was used by YSR in PopCarn.
Sunitha Sarathy was used by Bhavatharini in Mitr my friend.
Madhumitha was used by YSR in Nandha.

Dinesh and others, see what is there in the topic above. KK and others were RE-DISCOVERED (not introduced). These people were recogonised only after they sang for Harris. Bombay Jayasri is known for VASEEGARA than NARUMUGAYE.., is that clear Dinesh.
