Why?

I'm not playing favourites...ARR is not my fav MD, IR is not my fav MD, and etc. . I just like listening to good quality songs and I don't give a care who makes it that song (of course, if its a copied song, we're talking a whole new thing here)

But, I'm sorta confused abt one thing....Why is that IR, who's music is really good and he's done SOOO many films has not gotten the attention outside of INDIA and here ARR in just a short span has been known worldwide and his music is very well appreciated??

What is it that makes IR lack attention from outsiders???

  we can't say that IR was not a hit in the north. many of IR's songs copied by hindi MD's were hits there. now, thanks to satelite TV, when ARR's songs r 'annu maliked' in hindi, they know who the original composer is, which was not the case during IR's time. IR himself laughed it off, saying 'thanks to these copycats, my music is heard all over India !'
  
  I don't think a genius like IR would crave for attention. it probably doesn't mean anything to him. Only we are analyzing why he hasnt got attention.

  why are we not seeing good discussion/arguments, that we used to see sometime back in newtfmpage ?

  Good arguments come about when you have respect for the MD's (or singer's) you are talking about - You compare only their music or styles.
  
  By saying this I do not mean that they should be unbiased - I personally feel there cannot be anybody without a bias - but there should be respect for the other MD (or singer) who you are comparing with and then compare their styles and say why you have the bias.
  
  Instead it is outright bashing now - In the process the newtfmpage fans have only suceeded in degrading their favourite MD's (or singer).
  
  It is in the hope that some day that good arguments would return to newtfmpage, do I visit here.

  Jeera - i agree 100% with you.... of late i have seen MD's getting bashed left and right and sometimes, it's turning too personal.... i wish soon these things dies down.....

  sabesan, ur question is justified, but u posted it in the wrong thread. this is one of the better threads in today's newtfmpage, one of the few threads where there is no bashing.

  Well ARR has prooved himself int he North. He has got the Best Outside Music Director in USA as well ( source rahmanonline.com ).
  
  We all Indians should hope that he becomes famous in International Music as well after Bombay Dreams, The Last revolutionary and The Thief of Baghdad.
  
  He has already composed a song for Jennifer Lopez for some football theme music ( or something like that ) which is being beamed in mtv, vtv etc.

  Yeah, I heard that Jennifer Lopez thingy but never found anything on the net or in magzines to verifiy that.

  Even I have not heard that song, but I can gurantee that it has been composed by ARR and the dance is by JLo.
  
  My friends have said that they have heard the song in MTV and VTV. It is true. It has got thumping beats and goes something like "Move to Right, Move to Left"
