Ajit has started shoot for his latest film Godfather directed by K.S.Ravikumar. Ajit plays a triple role in the film- a powerful father character (see pic) and his two sons. The film will be produced by S.S.Chakravarthy for Nic Arts.
Ajit’s Godfather has a dream team- Ravikumar, commercially the most successful director in Tamil cinema, music director A.R.Rahman, veteran art director Thotta Tharani and top cinematographer P.C.Sreeram, whose lighting and shot takings have become part of cameramen’s folklores.
Variamuthu, the only genuine Tamil lyric writer is once again teaming up with Rahman and there are going to be six songs in the film. Already one song has been picturised on the lead pair which is sung by SPB and Sadhana Sargam.
Ajit has two heroines, Asin and probably a Mumbai girl. The rest of the songs will be picturised in the backwaters of Kerala and other picturistic locales in India. However, Ravikumar and Ajit are tight-lipped about the storyline but it will be a big-budget movie due for release in May 2005.
