"Septermber 11th"- Lets all Mourn for a minute.

Hi all,

I know this is all irrevalant to this forum but why shouldnt we spend a few minutes on it when thousands of ppl are with broken hearts remembering how they lost their loved ones. Please all human beings spend sometime to write something.Admin please close this after today.

  AS much as we mourn the thousands lost on this day last year in the WTC bombing....let's also
  
  - mourn the thousands lost on September 11, 1973 due to a CIA planned intervention in Chile and thousands killed by US sponsoring of dictators in South American countries
  
  - the innocent millions killed in Hiroshima, Nagasaki, Vietnam, SKorea and Phillipines due to American military action
  
  - lives lost as "Collateral damage" in Iraq, Afghanistan, Palestine, Bosnia, Somalia.

  Though I feel sorry for the innocent lives lost in the WTC attack, I think I wud rather mourn for my jawans @ the border, who, with Pakistani support and American Dumbness, r trying to strangle the peace of our nation. I know that we shd think in global terms ,( a life is alife whether it is Indian or American), I think undue hype is being given to the attack and its anniversary by Indianpress. Do they stop for a minute and think of the thousands of innocent ives lost in India? If they devote a special for sumthing like the 9/11 for India, then we wud be mourning everyday, every hour! Does anyone remember the 1992 Bombay bomb blasts? (Even now when I hear ARR's Bombay theme, I feel moved) Or the ones @ Coimbatore? or the umpteen rail and air tragedies? Does anyone remember the Kandahar highjacking when an innocent new bridegroom was killed for keping his head up? Does America mourn the Vietnam war? or the terror unleashed upon Japan? I am not trying to say that we shd be selfish, but be reminded of one thing: America seems to have woken up to terrorism ( I HATE THE TERM WAR ON TERROR USES BY CNN - WHO IS TERROR?) jus becoz IT is affected. WE told these bloody americans many times that there is terrorism against us, but they tearned a deaf ear to us. Now they r trying to play moral kings! America used Bin laden once! Does anyone say that? When u bring up a cobra and make it bite others, why should thy mourn for u when u get bit by the same cobra? Think........

  (i) the 1000s the Japanese massacred/ maimed/ tortured killed in Cambodia/Taiwan/ Singapore/
  Malaya/Indonesia, during the pre-Hiroshima/
  Nagasaki days

  What about all the ppl died in SL, nearly 80,000 ppl died in the 20 year on going civil war? who gave a damn about that, I know the Americans are ppl like us as well, but America is the bloody country in the world u know, ho many ppl died in the Vietnam war?, how many children are dying in Africa?, y the big deal when the Americans die?

  Raghu.. i understand your sentiments... 250 Indians also died in that. People from 80 countries died in that. When Talibans hijacked our Plane India could not do anything. India could not garner worldwide support. Ever since U.S Started it has been a setback for pakistani militants. It works greatly in India's favor. They have some superiority complex. In Politics there is no role for sentiments and emotions. You gotta get along with people who are more likely to be helpful to your country's growth. But i shall rephrase the posting for you. In TFM forum mourning thread is little unnecessary. U.S.A will only focus on incidents around the world that directly affect their economy. Infact any country will only do that. You have raised a question how many people died in Vietnam .. 58,000 Americans died in Vietnam. Let us not overreact for these things.. Just because one death is not mourned, other deaths don't become justifiable.

  Likewise, just because one act is declared 'Terrorism' by CNN, other acts cannot be considered 'Foreign Policy'.
  
  5800 Yanks died in Vietnam huh? Do you know how many Vietnamese?
  
  I guess their lives don't matter so no one bothered to keep count.
  
  Do you know how many innocents died in North Korea?
  
  Or Japan? Or Iraq? or Afghanistan?

  Let's all mourn the Americans, because we actually saw them getting killed on CNN.

  You don't have to mourn.. You don't have to criticize either.. When someone mourns over death of some people. Lot of people mourn for fire fighters. Atleast people in the towers didn't know that they were going to die. But fire fighters put their lives at risk. More than 400 people died. So if they mourn let them mourn. Do Indians mourn for Gujarjat earth quake tragedy? Nope. But come December 6. Full of securities everywhere. A mosque was destroyed on December 6. That's it. But still it can be potentially a dangerous day in India. But On sept 11., 2800 people died. We live in glasshouses we should not throw stones. India-US tie up is very essential for India's growth. Americans mourn because people were killed in America. Anything wrong with that? not 5800.. 58000 people died which is not a small number. Yeah right.. even in Tanjore 45 innocents died in stampede just because Jayalalitha wanted to take a bath during mahamaham. But we have elected her as leader for second term. We should shed this egoistic attitude. Only then India can step forward.. I can still see some people living in dark and old styled ideologies. Nobody forces you to mourn. Other day when a county cricketer died Indian cricketers mourned. What do you lose? Even though they may not have heard of him they did mourn. My boss contributed 200 dollar towards gujarat earthquake. He is an American.
