What happened to Ranjit Barot after scoring VIP ?

Ranjit Barot...the first time I saw his name was on ARR's "Love Birds" album....he was credited with Rhythm Programming for I think the Apache Indian number...and he did do a good job in VIP IMO...saw the film in Devi Theatre in Chennai on THX/Dolby?...and the first song with Ramba and Prabu Deva had a cool chorus gliding/sliding across the theatre ends...does anybody remember that ? Then later I heard his instrumental album...I forget the name (listening to one of the tracks that I had recorded from that album and hence this thread)...why has this guy stopped composing in TFM and cine music in general ?

  I sort of arrange and produce all his music. He writes the melody and I do all the music. Everything down to how fast it’s going to be, what the groove is going to be.
  And Anu Malik still gets billing as music director?
  
  Anu Malik is already an established name. It’s not going to become Anu-Malik/Ranjit Barot. I also did three- four songs on ‘Tera Jadoo Chal Gaya’ and two songs on ‘Kandukondain Kandukondain’.
  
  What does this exactly mean? Did he write scores for the melodies presented to him by the MDs?

What happens is I think that the overall marketing machine that sort of controls entertainment and controls music all over the world addresses only children. Because children don’t need to be convinced to buy any album. Children subscribe to the flavour of the month. It was Spice Girls and then it was Boyzone, now Vengaboys. It’s easy. There’s no work involved except showing a lot of flesh. What happens is the adults get left out.
