We will start .... "May Madham" 8-) (Jus because my bday falls in this month :lol2:
my favorite from May maadham is "Minnale" song......great rendition from SPB, great prelude/interludes.......lyrics was also top notch......
"Paal mazhaikku kaathirukkum boomi illaya
oru pandigaiku kaathirukkum saami illaya
Vaarthai vara kaathirukkum kavignan illaya
naan kaathirundhaal kaadhal innum neelum illaya" 8-)
this song proves ARR was pretty strong in WCM right from his early days.....
Track List
1. Markazhi Poove - Shoba
2. Madras Suthi - Shahul Hameed, Manorama
3. Aadi Paaru Mangaatha - Subha
4. Pazalattu Machanukku - Unnimenon, GV. Prakash
---------
5. En Mel Vizhundha - P. Jayachandran, Chitra
6. Minnalae - SP. Balasubramaniam
Excellent pick SQS. :D
1.A successive attempt to CC-Aasai in form MPoove(female solo), the prelude flings like a breeze and the song, orchestration, vocal rendition blew mainstream listeners inspite of those controversies been howled. ARR's theory of musical magnetism continued to vibe.
2. Grand narration of Singara Chennai. Check the witty kickstart from Manorama dur...driona hey hey.... :rotfl:
3. Situational Song "Raja eduthuvai Rahmanaiyum eduthu vai"
4. With lots of funky beats and excellent guitar usage… GVP, the kid rocked
----------
5 & 6 Now Rahman unearths & proves his mastery over melodies. He chastely differentiated it with a soft-duet (EVM) and the other one(Minnale) an effervescent solo-violin races astoundingly. SPB rendition & the lyricist vairamuthu needs a special mention here. Bliss! While the earlier tracks are funny, situational and for pleasure listening, the captivating MPoove & two eternal melodies will remain always in the disciples playlist. :D
May Maadham
This album came out some time in 1994 rite? Just after the musical block buster kaadhalan got released... Appathan i had started being a crazy fan of Rahman.....eppa enna padam by rahman release aanalum vaangiduven :) veetula sema thittu kidaikkum...... May madham cassette vantha pudhusula enga school la initial reaction ennana songs lam waste, kaadhalan than nalaruku, may madham flop appadi ippadi sonnanga....... even though barring one song all the songs were good, kaadhalan effect nala may maadham did not become as hit as it shudve been :) even in every count downs kaadhalan was the top while may maadham wud be lagging behind
Thanks Scale :)Quote:

madras-a suthi kaata poren was one of my fav song when the album got released because i was at Trichy at that time and Madras was like a dream place to me .. it will be exciting when manorama, vineeth sings about the places and nature of Madras but ingga vandhu kuppa kottuna peragu thaan theriudhu
