Before 'Nenjil Oor Aalayam (1962) it was 'Policekkaaran Magal' (1961) where Sridhar used the combo of Viswanathan Ramamurthy and Kannadhasan.

I remember reading a long time ago that this song was recorded for KR Vijaya and Ashokan for 'Naan Aaniyittaal' but was precluded due to the film's length.

It is Kaviarasu Kannadhasan's funeral.
