Tirucchi Loganathan

I just read the Tirucchi Loganathan section in the Master Index pages. TL had a great voice - slightly unconventional, perhaps - but with the exception of Mandiri Kumari and Kappalottiya Thamizhan, was not really used as the major singer in any movie. Even in Mandiri Kumari, he was the villains voice. Pl. note that GR was the MD of both these movies. Even though TL was very good in these movies, he was not used that much by say, MSV-TKR, KVM etc. and even GR seems to hv used him sparingly. Was his voice generally considered unsuitable/unconventional for the heroes of fifties ? Anybody has any idea on why this talented singer was not successful ? Did he die too early or something ?
