One question always pop in my head after prestigious awards are given. How many of the awarded movie reached out well and made people speak about the movies? Even movie like Kutram Kadithal flopped after receiving several awards. So are the the awards just a console trophy, a symbolic gesture?

This is not personally against any of the award winners, this is just in generel. I want clarity on how much impact this award has.
