Maestro Ilayaraja, on Friday night created a musical wonder at Sree Vidyanikethan Educational Institutions of actor Mohan Babu in Tirupati.

Attended by about 2000 people, including the dignitaries’ ace director K. Raghavendra Rao and former AP chief minister Nedurumalli Janardhan Reddy, the maestro performed his musical concert with the accompaniment of 32 violinists. The occasion was marked by the birthday celebrations of Mohan Babu.

Mohan Babu termed Ilayaraja as “pride of the nation.” He recalled his association with Ilayaraja that spread over three decades. He felicitated the maestro in a rich manner on the stage.

Ilayaraja said that music is immaculate and divine like milk. “For normal degrees, the time period is set. But for learning music, there is no end. It is eternal and the course would continue to haunt its lovers for the whole of a life time.”

Later, Ilayaraja composed a fascinating lyric by using the maxims of Mahatma Gandhi. He declared that the composition was dedicated to the educational institutions of Mohan Babu. To note here, this particular lyric termed as “Gandhi’s Geetham” was recently made into an album under the music direction of Ilayaraja at a cost of Rs 1 crore, as donation from the Birla Foundation.

he wants her to talk abt harris with whom she has done only one song that too is a bit (remaining bits and pieces sung by Saindhavi and someone else - indha bittu bittaa songa pichu naan paadinen naan paadinennu ellarum solli kozhapparadha eppa niruthuvaangalo).
However one good thing to come out is the 'contrasting composing styles' of Raja and Rahman.
No wonder the camps are so rigidly set against each other.
Raaja - everything comes from one man's brain/mind/aathma (yaaraachum idhukku thought continuum maadhiri singular thamizh word kandupidiyungappa).
Rahman - set up the base tune, set up the right ambience, rest the musicians will create .
