Not every debutant surprises me with an impressive album. GVP, James are the few to have surprised me in their first movie itself. Joining the list is ‘Devan Ekambaram’, whose ‘Bale Pandiya’ has impressed me so much. Songs are rocking!

I feel this album deserves a separate thread.

My Short take!

My picks are 'Happy' and 'Sirikkiren'. Both are kick ass stuffs. Former is a neat 'cappella' song, while the latter is a super duper kuthu song, that makes you dance. Lyrics for both are penned by Vaali. Needless to say! His lyrics is outstanding and adds special feel to the former and more fun to the latter.

Aaradha kobamillai - An excellent melody. Neat orchestration that doesn't mask the lyrics. Singers have done full justice to the song. Only thing is, Raman Mahadevan sounds like Shankar mahadevan Lovely lyrics by Thamarai.

Bale Pandiya - Another kuthu song. Lyrics, again vaali in full form. Starts off with a glorifying notes and soon turns into 'bashing' in Charanam parts.

Kangale Kamalalayam - Unni Krishnan breathes life into this ordinary melody. Passable!

Sirikkiren (Instrumental) - Awesome!

Ivan Thedal - Techno stuff. Weakest spot in this album!

Overall, give it a couple of listens. You will like it for sure!

Devan, come on. You have done a great job. Looking forward to your next album Keep it up!
