"Blame it on IR", I guess!

He kept everyone pretty engaged with with back to back releases for people to discuss in 2009- till the beginning of this year !

not only caste, some even stoop down to even such low levels as to comment on his skin color.

thinking that he is praising raja, some nut head said on a function, 'raja would have been hailed by the whole world if his colour had not been black'. what is this nonsense. if people can not apprehend the greatness of his music they can better shut their useless mouths rather than expose their inability to understand music.

if he had not been born in tamilnadu, if he had born in an upper caste -- what are these stupid, baseless statements but the complexes of their utterers.

"Shaji has also announced that his next Malayalam film Gatha will be based on a short story of T Padhmanabhan. Mohanlal will be in the lead role.

Ilayaraja will be scoring the music and shoot will happen only by end of 2011".

Confirmation on IR For Shaji karun's Gaatha.

However , it would be a much longer wait it seems!

    கர்னாடக இசை வழியை அறியாதவர்கள் தான் இப்படி பேச முடியும்.

    எந்த இடத்தில்? முதல் இடத்தில், முதல் இசையாக மங்கள இசையாக.

instrumental music has always been given only secondary status. and among the instruments nadhaswaram definitely has a prominent place. and only nadhaswaram is played daily in all 'brahmin dominated' temples to the Lord's pleasure right from thirupalli ezhuchi to ardhajama poojai. not any other instrument. i think nadhaswaram has a prominent place than veena in most sabhas.

and patrons are more important for any kind of music to thrive. those who crib, i ask them, how many of you have attended a nadhaswaram concert? chumma yaravadhu engayavadhu ezhudhi vachadha appadiye solla koodadhu.

if we dont have first hand experience on something, it is better not to talk about that.

thani avarthanam kooda thaan avvalavu popular kedayadhu. more than half of the rasikas start the exodus during thani. adhukkum jaathi thaan kaaranama? mridangam vasikaravan ellam brahmanan kedayadha?

again, i want to reiterate, please stop the shit of seeing everything under the light of caste.

Good idea.... (said this for the fifth time....). why obsess over mixing caste and musical arguments....carnatic music flourishes among SL tamils with no mistrust about caste....perhaps a lesson to be learned here..

brahmins were not intelligent by birth, they made themselves intelligent by Restricting/Denying knowledge to others. The cultural and social exclusion of others from knowledge helped them to reach great intellectual heights. The tables are being turned now after Periyaar & Ambedkar. Hope sanity prevails in understanding that nothing can be a birthright oops... casteright.

narayanan did not say brahmins were intelligent by birth. in fact, he said the same thing you did, in a different way.

    Let's not pick fights here.

Ack...even I am getting drawn into this

Nobody is intelligent by birth. At the same time, posts like these lower the level of this thread and subsequent undoing of great work by the likes of Sureshji, Bala, Jaiganesh etc. Please refrain from such posts. Come on RS!
