Fantabulous song! I think it's from Oru Odai Nathiyaagirathu.

    Few more Reetigowlai AFAIK
Kavikkuyil (1977) - Chinna Kannan Azhaikiran - Balamurali Krishna ( & SJ verion) (this is the first Reetigowlai by Raja)
Sippikkul Muthu (1985) - Raman Kathai - SPB
Poonthottam (1998) - Meetaatha Oru Veenai - Hariharan

Are there any more Reetigowlai from Raja, please share, I love this raagam and the way Raja used it is phenomenal.
I dont't think so I feel your hunger therefore I did a search and I came across parthalae theriyadho naeku, adiyae sarasu from the movie Sri Raghavendra (1985) (*ing Rajni) and chittu pOlE mottu pOlE piLLai vara pOraan kattil mElE from Iniya Uravu Poothadhu. Both songs are superb listens and they're set to Ananda Bharavi which I think is a sibling raag to Reeti gowlai.

This website claims that Raaja sir has only composed two songs in Ananda bharavi.

I should say thanks to you for expanding my Raaja library of songs . I've never heard a song (Workout/Dance class) like this in any kind of Indian film.

But I'm sure this is only a minuscule example of his versatility.

Thanks a lot Sunil. Yes, Ananda Bhairavi is very close to Reetigowlai, but both of songs you posted are again great ones.

Don't know the reason, this is "playing in the mind" from this morning - though I haven't heard this in weeks!

    Rajkumar,

MD Rajendran is a lyric writer. he's basically an announcer at AIR Thrissur, A self proclaimed IR Fan . Although he has written for many MD's, in terms of ratio, it has probably worked best with IR - almost all songs with IR have been Hits. He has done some work recently as a music director (For some devotional songs, though).
