Was just listening to Vaanaville song (Ramana). The harmonium kind of synthesized sound in the first interlude (after she sings "la..la...la..") is pretty neat. Nice orchestration. Just listening to "Nee thoongum nerathil". A melting tune and very apt interludes (humming in the first interlude is too good) and orchestration. Amazing song that is.

I was refering to the Ramana song only

And yes i was also refering to the harmonium sound in the first interlude......

alwarpet_andavan, for a moment I forgot that the new name "Ilayaan" is nothing but IR . BTW, what is the full form of Ilayaan? Read in some thread...but I forgot. I somehow dont like the name "Ilayaan"...maybe because the way it pronounces/sounds. Its my opinion. Was there a IR version of Vaanaville song?

Is mp3 songs of the movie Ilayavan available anywhere (coolgoose??) on the net? I heard a couple of songs were good in this movie.

    thanks

The Hindu review says this about the music of "Ilayavan":

    http://www.hindu.com/2000/09/29/stories/09290225.htm

"....All the five songs tuned by Ilaiyaraja are mellifluous. The best is `Vattanilaeva' written by Mu. Metha and sung by S. P. Balasubramaniam and Swarnalatha. `En Jeevanae' written by Pulamaipithan and sung by S. P. Balasubramaniam is also a captivating number. Unnikrishnan and Chitra have sung the song `En Idayam Muzhuvathum' written by Arivumathi which has beautiful rhythm. Good lyrics by Pazhani Bharathi for the song `Chinukku chinkkunnu' sung by Mano will linger long in the minds of the audience. `Nilavin Amuthu' a duet by Unnikrishnan and Bhavatharini, which is written by Pazhani Bharathi, is also a good one...."

    thanks

Many ARR fans like IR songs and likewise many IR fans like ARR songs. Its just some stupid ppl who insult one or the other and start an un-necessary ARR-IR war. I know Arjuna, Dinesh, alias, MADDY and few other ARR fans like IR fans and gave encouraging feedback for TIS and many other IR songs. Lot of these folks like songs from ONOK / AOKK. Likewise, I am sure many of IR fans like Aa Aah / Rising. If we are just a bit open, then we will have a healty talk rather than bashing each other.

njv, In 1992, 93, 94, I was also a hardcore fan of ARR as I had collected ARR news from magazine. Before 1992 and after 1994 I was / am hardcore IR fan. But Now I still like ARR. Tamilians should proud of IR and ARR.
