Agreed. But "idiots to geniuses" konjam over dhaan. I would say the spectrum includes those who just look at him as the best ever entertainer, like me...those who worship him for whatever he does & those who are keen to know, analyze, dissect what he does, what causes he supports and what he's against, in real life. IMO, whether it is MK, KH, Anna or whoever, we are sure to get disappointed if we expect them to do what we want. In KH's case, the causes which Geno mentioned - Koodangulam, Mullai Periyar or Eezham issues are not related to his profession and most of his fans will be surprised only if he opens his mouth on these topics. It is like asking Atlas to carry few more planets on his back.

Atlas has actually been taking on many planets in his back since the last 2-3 decades now. The below is one such "asteroid" level astromical body. There were much bigger "Goldilock" planets like the one he carried in December 1992, March 1993, Feb 1998 (Gosh! why wouldnt anyone even reply for this list?!)..and his continuous discourses on rationalism has always been questioned - yet he has carried that Planet too!

ஆற்றுப் படுகையில் யாரோ முன் தோண்டி வைத்திருந்த ஊற்றுப் பள்ளத்தை ஒரு கடுங் கோடை மாலையில் தாகத்துடன் பார்த்தபடி நிற்கின்றேன், குப்புறப் படுத்துத் தோண்டி வைத்த குழியில் ஆசையாய் மேலும் ஐந்து கையளவு மண்ணைக் கோதி எடுக்கிறேன். மூன்றாம் கோதலில் என் புறங்கையில் சற்றே ஈரம், ஆறு, ஏழு, எட்டு, நீர் எட்டிப் பார்க்கிறது. நாவறண்ட என் முகத்தை பிம்பமாய்ப் பிடித்துக் காட்டி விட்டு தாகம் தணிக்கிறது. மூக்கில் ஒட்டிய ஈர மணலையும் முன் சட்டையில் ஒட்டிய காய்ந்த மணலையும் தட்டி விட்டு எழுகிறேன் கனவு கலைகிறது - அத்தனையும் கனவுதான். பரமக்குடிக்கார ஆள் என் நினைவில் தற்போது இது நடக்க வாய்ப்பில்லை. பரமக்குடி கடக்கும் ஆற்றுப் படுகைக்கே மூடு விழா நடத்தத்துவங்கி பல மாமாங்கள் ஆகிவிட்டன. கரையோர வீடுகள் கள்ளழகர் போல் தம் களம் விட்டிரங்கி ஆற்றுப்படுகையில் புது மனைகள் புகுந்து தம் கழிவுகளை ஆற்றுப் படுகையில் கலக்க விட்டு ஓரிரு மாமாங்கள் ஆகிவிட்டன. பன்றிகள் போல் மனிதர்கள் நாமும் சர்வாஹாரிகள் (omnivore) தான் எனினும் கழிபொருட்களையும் களை பொருட்களையும் நாம் நித உணவுகளாக்கிக் கொண்டு, திட உணவுகளை மெதுவாய் அப்புறப் படுத்தி வருகிறோம்.

மேற்சொன்னவற்றிற்கும் வால் மார்ட் (Wall Mart) இந்தியாவிற்குள் நுழைவதற்கும் என்ன சம்பந்தம் என்று யாரும் கேட்டால் விவரம் சொல்ல நிறைய இந்தியர்கள் ஆதாரங்களோடு கடும் வாதம் புரியக் காத்திருக்கிறார்கள். தமிழகத்தின் நுழைவாயிலை தற்காலிகமாகத் தமிழக முதல்வர் தாழிட்டு வைத்திருக்கிறர். அதற்கு என் போன்ற ஆட்களின் தற்காலிகமான நன்றி தமிழக முதல்வருக்கு உரித்தாகும். இந்த வைராக்கியத்தை அவர் கடைப் பிடித்தால் எங்கள் நன்றி என்றென்றும் உண்டு. எதிர் காலச் சந்ததிகளின் விவரமறிந்த நன்றியும் கூட. என்ன செய்து விடப் போகிறது இந்த வால் மார்ட் (Wall Mart)? இப்படிப் பதறுகிறீர்கள் என்று கேட்டால்; வால் மார்ட் (Wall Mart) என்ற அமெரிக்க பல் பொருளங்காடி கிராம வாசிகளையும் வாடிக்கையாளர்களாக்கிக் கொண்டு, அவர்களே அறியாமல் அவர்கள் பிடரியில் கையை வைத்துத் தள்ளிக் கொண்டு போய் தம் கல்லாவில் காசு போட வைக்கும். ஊற்று நீரை பாட்டிலில் நிரப்பி விற்கும். பதனி பருக ஆசை என்று என் போன்ற பழைய ஆட்களுக்கும் பாட்டிலில் அடைத்து விற்றாலும் விற்கும் வால் மார்ட் (Wall Mart) சொல்லமுடியாது, மீனுக்கு வாலும் பாம்புக்குத் தலையும் காட்டி மயக்கும் விளாங்குத்தனம் உள்ள அமெரிக்க வியாபாரக் குழுமங்கள் கிராம உத்யோக பவனின் காதி யுக்திகளையும் அனுமதியின்றி அபகரித்துத் தனதாக்கிக் கொள்ளும். பனம் பழமும் கிழங்கும் என்னவென்றே தெரியாத இந்தியப் பிள்ளைகள் பிட்சாவே தன் பாரம்பரிய உணவு என மயங்கும்.மயங்கட்டுமே, இதில் என்ன கெட்டுப் போகிறது? எனச் சிலர் கேட்கலாம்.

Even a remake movie - which was shot in only 2-3 locations took almost 9 months - more than what it took for the original.
One movie an year is the best we can expect.

It has been confirmed beyond doubts that Padma Bhushan actor Kamalhassan is going to star in the Tamil remake of Malayalam super hit and critically acclaimed film Drishyam. Jeetu Joseph who directed Malayalam Superstar Mohanlal and Meena in the film is all set to direct the Ulaganayagan who will be reprising Lal's role of a father of two teenage girls.

As reported earlier, the script of the film will go in for minor changes suiting the taste and preferences of Tamil audience and Kamal himself will be discussing and finalising the changes along with the director. Since the star is busy with his commitments for the magnum opus VIswaroopam 2 and Uthama Villain the film to be produced by director Lingusamy and to be directed by his good friend and actor Ramesh Aravind, Drishyam in Tamil will go on floors only in the second half of this year.

Regarding the heroine of the film, sources close to the team say that Meena will be reprising the role played by herself in Malayalam. Meena's role in Dirshyam has been well appreciated by critics as well as fans and if she does the same in Tamil, it will be a worthy comeback for this actress referred fondly referred by Tamil audience as a woman with beautiful eyes.

Meena, who remained as one of the leading heroines in all the four industries of South Indian Cinema until the last decade paired up with Kamalhassan in only one film, which is Avvai Shanmugi directed by K.S.Ravikumar, that released in 1996. This apart, the actress has made a cameo appearance in Kamalhassan's 2001 super hit film Thenali, which was directed by Ravikumar again.
